Select when a mechanical device (trailer with power lift gate) is required to perform loading. Generally, a lift gate will be required at the loading site when no dock, platform or ramp is directly accessible to ABF's vehicle and any single piece in the shipment weighs more than 200 pounds, exceeds 8 feet in any dimension or exceeds 4 feet in each of any two dimensions. In some cases, a lift gate may be required for pieces lighter and smaller than described herein.

Select when your shipment will be picked up at a location with limited access, involving limited or no loading facilities and/or having time consuming security delays. Select when the shipment is to be picked up at private residences and other such locations.

Select if a single piece of freight exceeds 28 feet or the vehicle has been loaded to capacity or the maximum legal weight limitations have been reached or when another like piece of the largest article cannot be loaded onto the trailer.

Select when your shipment is moving under United States Customs Bond for clearance at a point in the United States, or requiring delivery under U.S. Customs supervision. You may review Item 480 ABF 111 for more details.

Select when excess cargo liability is needed, and enter the declared value of your shipment. ABF's standard cargo liability is limited to a class based per actual pound per piece maximum liability limit for any item that is new (see Section 1 of Item 780-1 in ABF 111 Series) and $0.10 per actual pound per piece for any item that is not new.
